A.V.A. is a school which encourages  its students to develop into confident creative artists with  BA (hons) degree. The school offers  study of classical and contemporary programmes of visual arts.

The institution, with its programme and international accreditation, strongly moves away from customary practice of Slovenian HE Institutions and of wider Central European space, because of the following advantages:

• Internationally recognised study  and awards
• The scope of the lectures  is approx. 1200 h/year  which is distinctively more than the usual (at most) 750 h of national art Colleges
• High standards of schooling  – 1 tutor per 10 students, personal work space for each student, studios and technical support
• One to one individual approach
• Theoretical and practical part of the study are strongly intertwined
• Art work or projects of the students are emerging with the simultaneous use of different art elements (interactively)
• Our tutors – acknowledged artists - are encouraging the students in their creativity and in development of their own ways of expression
• The system of tutors ensures individual approach and mutual  ambition towards creative development and success
• School is partly funded from sponsors and donators  which makes lower tuition fees possible

The distinctive features of the school are also shown in studio based work that is fully tutored and it takes place in adequate working environment; the school is based in outstanding location with the entire infrastructure nearby. One of most distinctive features of the school is introduction of Foundation studies that help students reveal their creative potential and helps them achieve clear vision of their specialisation – which is regular practice of British art education.
 The school provides students with their own personal work space/ studio from the beginning of the specialised (BA hons) programme (year 2) which is open for applicants with clear vision of specialisation and strong portfolio.
All of our school’s facilities are adapted to physically disabled students.
